It was Valentine's day? Didn't notice

See how I didn't post some sort of shmoopie entry about romance, red wine and chocolate? That was deliberate. It's cuz a) Valentine's Day is overrated and b) I think chocolate with red wine is pretty nasty stuff. (Unless it's port).

Instead of buying into Hallmark's nauseatingly saccharine greeting-card holiday, Hubby cooked me fettucine alfredo with grilled chicken the Friday before. We opened up a Closson Chase 2007 South Clos Chardonnay (Prince Edward County, Ontario). Smooth, rich and full of tropical fruit, butterscotch and creme brulee. These folks sure do know their chards.

The best part was feeling the love from my number one girl. Far better than any store-bought sentiments was the collection of hand-drawn valentines from the Doodle, including one of those silhouette portraits of her adorable profile, all adorned with glitter hearts. Seriously, what more do you need?
