Quaff this: Black Prince Winery 2007 Chardonnay

Lonely drinking? Or drinking alone? I've always had this thought that sitting around drinking wine on my own was a solid first step on the road to alcoholism. But I tell ya, after a long day of play dates / housework / Christmas shopping and laundry, a glass of wine feels pretty darn good right about now.

The glass in question is a Black Prince Winery 2007 Chardonnay from the County. It's still pretty rough, could probably stand a bit more time and work to soften the edges. But it's good. Deep gold colour, clear, lots of peach and apricot on the nose, with a bit of diesel (yes Mum, you were right). Sharp oak on the palate, but it hasn't gone all buttery and wooden. There's still quite a bit of crisp acidity and herbaceousness that I like quite a bit.
