Quaff This: Williamsburg Winery 2005 John Adlum Chardonnay (Virginia)
Clear, bright yellow colour. Very light aromas of oak, but not much else. Mouth feel is clean, refreshing, with hints of buttered toast and caramel; here’s where the oak comes through a bit stronger, but it’s nothing overpowering. The acidity keeps everything balanced and the short finish makes for an easy drink. Had it very cold (I know, a white wine no-no) with Cajun chicken pasta. Smooth pairing with the cream sauce and kept the heat from the spice in check.
